Where the Wild Things Are

It's 10:00pm. I'm actually getting this done early tonight. The girls and I hit the zoo today. It was Annie's first time. She had a great time, and did a lot better than I thought she would.

Click it or ticket - We're outta here! (Hey look! There's Meagan! She actually let me take some pictures of her today. I know you all were beginning to think that Annie was an only child. But here is proof. Meagan is alive and well-well, she was when we left the house. More on that later.)

Annie likes her fish behind glass. This went over WAY better than the actual fishing trip last week with Dad and Meagan.

Bigshot monorail rider. I think the funniest part was watching her when the tram took off. I really think she realized that she wasn't in her car seat and she was amazed. Thus began the up and down, standing, sitting, Mom, Meagan shuffle.

The highlight of the trip? The goats. Goats, you ask? Yep, the girl loved the goats. We started in the barn, with the fence between them.

Almost lost Annie's sunglasses.

Then headed outside. Annie went nuts. She picked out her favorite right away and stuck close.

I think she thought this little goat was hers. She had staked her claim for sure. Check out Annie's face when another little girl came and tried to pet "her" goat.

"There's nothing to see here, move along."

We'll leave Annie with her little goat friend for a minute and check in on Meagan. Some may remember that Meagan is not our most graceful child. She gets hurt. A lot. Doing nothing. Petting goats in the KIDS petting zoo today was no exception.

Kiss, kiss!

CHOMP!

Yep. Meagan was bit by a baby goat. It broke the skin, but I'm sure she'll live. Sigh. That's my girl.

After several hours and a lot more animals, it was time to head home. Someone was more than ready. I didn't hear a sound from her the entire drive home. It was a good day.
