It was time for a haircut. Annie's poor hair was hanging in her eyes all the time and getting so long that combing it in the morning was turning into more of a fight than it was worth. So, I gave in to Meagan and Joe saying she needed it cut and had it done. She did really well sitting in the chair for the stylist. There was a small issue with her moving which resulted in her bangs a little shorter than I would have liked, but it's only hair. It'll grow back.
We took quite a bit off the length too. This is the best picture I could get. Annie has decided to totally ignore me whenever the camera is brought out these days. The pictures are fewer and farther between.
Last weekend we headed to the cities to do some shopping for Meagan. The two stores that I grocery shop at have some gluten free sections, but the selection is really very small. We hit Trader Joe's and Whole Foods and found a few more things that are gluten free for Meagan. But before heading there we made a pit stop at the Mall of America.
It was a good day.

Halloween -Take 2

I know Halloween is over, but I just got this picture back. The person that takes Annie's pictures has this deal on Halloween -for $5 she'll take a picture of you/your kid/family in her studio all decked out for fall and Halloween. It's a great deal, and I really like the pictures that she takes.
We took Annie last year-and we took her again this year. I think her picture turned out pretty cute so I thought I'd share.

Honan
18 years ago my little sister was born. My Mom made this video montage for Lauren, and I thought I'd post it here for those that might have missed it.
Happy 18th birthday Lauren. I love you more than you'll ever know.

Trick or Treat!

Snow White was big enough this year to join in the fun. It was so fun to watch her go to the door and wait for her piece of candy and yell, "Thank you!" We only went around the block. Her little hands were icy cold by the time we got home. She was just as happy to answer the door for the kids that came to our house tonight.

What's for dinner?

We are all alive and well. H1N1 has moved on, and I'm feeling better. I've driven the girls back and forth to Rochester a few times and the results are in. The results aren't surprising, but they are life altering. Meagan's lactose intolerance was confirmed and she has been diagnosed with Celiac disease.
Annie is allergic to milk products including casein and whey. She does not have Celiac.
What is Celiac disease?
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease that damages the villi of the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. What does this mean? Essentially the body is attacking itself every time a person with celiac consumes gluten.
Celiac disease is triggered by consumption of the protein called gluten. When people with celiac disease eat foods containing gluten, their immune system responds by damaging the finger-like villi of the small intestine. When the villi become damaged, the body is unable to absorb nutrients into the bloodstream.
We are learning how to adapt to this news. It's overwhelming but we are figuring it out. I'm reading a lot and burning Google up with my searches.

2 Year Check Up
Height: 34 5/8 inches
Weight: 28.4 lbs
Pants: 18-24m
Shirt: 2T
Shoes: 6
She grew, she grew! I was so excited to see the jump at Annie's appointment today. She's doing very well. There were 2 shots today, a few tears and a few choice words from Annie to the nurse for having the nerve to poke her with a needle. All in all, it was a good appointment.
